Shelly & KarenKaren and Shelly met in 2011 when Shelly was Karen’s yoga student. Karen shared a part of her past during class one day and they soon realized they had a lot in common and quickly became close friends. When Shelly mentioned she was thinking about attending yoga teacher training, Karen encouraged her to go for it. Their love for yoga continued to grow and they dreamed that one day, in the very far future, they would open a yoga and wellness space together. Little did they know that once they began to look at possible spaces, their desire would be ignited and this dream was something they needed to do now. Karen and Shelly share the deep desire to not only help people through yoga, but also to create a safe, welcoming space that encourages people to be free to be themselves, explore, and connect with others

Karen Leaming

Co-founder & Owner

KarenSquareKaren Leaming began practicing yoga in college in 1999 and knew at that point that she wanted to become a yoga teacher. Karen believes that yoga has truly helped her, not only to connect with her true self, but also through many life challenges. When she began teaching in 2010, she never imagined that yoga would be her true calling, but yoga’s ability to help people on so many levels soon became clear to her and she knew this was her path.

Karen believes that yoga is truly for everyone, at anytime in their lives — regardless of body shape/size, ability/skill level, or life situation — and it is this belief that drives her to emphasize safety and honoring oneself in the moment during her classes. She loves to teach classes such as beginner and restorative, to mixed levels and dynamic flow.

Karen believes there is always room to grow. She enjoys researching, reading, and absorbing as much knowledge as possible.
