Ananda 200 Hour Teacher Training

With over 23 years combined yoga teaching, Shelly, Karen, and Kelly bring a wealth of knowledge and experience. Our desire is to bring people the same life-changing experience we have had with yoga, including self acceptance and a different perspective on life. With that, we hope to bring to our yoga community teachers who have the ability to make yoga accessible to everyone in a safe, loving and healing way.

What You Will Need to do to Complete Your Training

  • Attend all in-studio teacher training weekends
  • Attend 80 hours of Asana practice at the studio, the majority being with Shelly, Kelly, or Karen
  • Complete all at home readings and assignments
  • Teach required hours to students in the program as well as to the public.</li

Karen Kapus, E-RYT 500

Karen began practicing yoga in 1999 and soon after began taking trainings and started teaching regulary in 2010. She continued her passion by attaining her 500 hour yoga teacher certification and through continuous teaching became a E-RYT 500.

Shelly McIntosh, E-RYT 200

Shelly has been practicing yoga since 2006, and after realizing the healing benefits of yoga first hand, decided to obtain her 200 hour teacher certification, immersed herself in teaching and is now an E-RYT 200. Also passionate about Ayurveda, the sister science of yoga, she delved into incorporating it into her life and teaching with the support of her mentor, Monica Bloom.

Kelly Friedberg, RYT 500, E-RYT 200

Kelly’s first experience of teaching came back in 2007 when she taught Biology at the high school level. Her graduate education in Anatomy & Physiology led her to the world of yoga over 10 years ago. She furthered her yoga practice by completing a 200 hour teacher training in 2013, proudly becoming a 3rd generation Iyengar student. Always a student and keenly aware of the benefit that advancing her personal practice has on her teaching, she continued education, obtaining her 500 hour advanced teacher certification through Dig Yoga in August of 2019, and has her Sanskrit Level 1 Certification from the American Sanskrit Institute.

Return Policy

  • If Ananda Yoga + Wellness cancels the training or you are not accepted into the program, your deposit will be refunded less $20.
